I was first inspired by these words when I was 14, when I first read a portion of it, decided to memorize it and recite it at a church service. I have been reciting it ever since. I hope that his words continue to encourage and bless others.

That’s My King!
S.M. Lockridge

The Bible says my King is a seven-way King: He’s the King of the Jews - that’s a racial King. He’s the King of Israel - that’s a National King. He’s the King of righteousness. He’s the King of the ages. He’s the King of Heaven. He’s the King of glory. He’s the King of kings and He is the Lord of lords. That’s my King!

Well, I wonder… do you know Him? David said “the Heavens declare the glory of God, and the firmament sheweth His handiwork.” My King is a sovereign King; no means of measure can define His limitless love. No far seeing telescope can bring into visibility the coastline of the shore of His supplies. No barriers can hinder Him from pouring out His blessing. He’s enduringly strong. He’s entirely sincere. He’s eternally steadfast. He’s immortally graceful. He’s imperially powerful. He’s impartially merciful.

Do you know Him? He’s God’s Son. He’s the sinner’s saviour. He’s the centrepiece of civilization. He stands alone in the solitude of Himself. He’s august and He’s unique. He’s unparalleled. He’s unprecedented. He’s the loftiest idea in literature. He’s the highest personality in philosophy. He’s the supreme problem in higher criticism. He’s the fundamental doctrine of true theology. He is the core, the cardinal necessity for a spiritual religion. He is the miracle of the age, and He is the superlative of everything good that you choose to call Him. He’s the only one qualified to be an all-sufficient Savior.

I wonder if you know Him today. He’s the only one able to supply all our needs simultaneously. He supplies strength for the weak. He’s available for the tempted and the tried. He sympathizes and He saves. He guards and he guides. He heals the sick. He cleanses the lepers. He forgives sinners. He discharges debtors. He delivers the captives. He defends the feeble. He blesses the young. He serves the unfortunate. He regards the aged. He rewards the diligent and He purifies the meek. That’s my King.

Do you know Him? Well, my King is the key to knowledge. He’s the wellspring of wisdom. He’s the doorway of deliverance. He’s the pathway of peace. He’s the roadway of righteousness. He’s the highway of holiness. He’s the gateway of glory. That’s my King.

His office is manifold. His promise is sure. His light is matchless. His goodness is limitless. His mercy is everlasting. His love never changes. His Word is enough. His grace is sufficient. His reign is righteous. His yoke is easy and His burden is light. I wish I could describe Him to you . . .but He’s indescribable. He’s God.

He’s incomprehensible. He’s invincible. He’s irresistible. You can’t get Him out of your mind. You can’t get Him off of your hands. You can’t outlive Him and you can’t live without Him. The Pharisees couldn’t stand Him, but they found out they couldn’t stop Him. Pilate couldn’t find any fault in Him. The witnesses couldn’t get their testimonies to agree about Him. Herod couldn’t kill Him. Death couldn’t handle Him and the grave couldn’t hold Him. That’s my King. That’s my King!

Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever and ever and ever. How long is that? And ever and ever! And when you get through with all of the forever’s, then… Amen! Amen! and Amen!

I’m totally looking forward to this movie. Check out the website for Michel Gondry’s upcoming movie, “Be Kind Rewind” starring Mos Def and Jack Black. It looks totally weird, funny, unique, and it’s directed by the guy who did “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind” and “The Science of Sleep“. The movie’s about two video store guys who find that all of their video tapes have been erased. So how do they solve this problem? They create their own versions of popular movies and rent them out of the store. Now tell me that doesn’t sound cool. On the website, they have this thing called “sweding”. Meaning they take something and create something new based on that something.

Be to check out the “sweded” versions of Apple, Google, and YouTube. All dumb, but pretty funny and cool.

Jose Feliciano is just too awesome. A brilliant guitarist, a wonderful man (and puertorican), and he’s still going strong. Here’s a video clip from 1968 where Jose Feliciano sings Mama Don’t Allow with Bing Crosby. Enjoy.

Here’s a short movie about the WGA Strike going on. A friend, Alejandro, did lighting and 2nd camera for this short, produced by orenfilm. It was apparently ’scribed’ by a Guild member, and has gotten some good response. Take a gander and enjoy. Granted, you may appreciate it more if you know a bit about scriptwriting or filmmaking.

I may not agree with everything he says, but he talks sense and he’s moraled.

I like people with direct and firm stances. I don’t like the fake smiles, the tentative answers to everything with no real logic, the vague please-everybody responses to touchy subjects. I like people who are firm on an issue and have the intelligence to back it up.

Unfortunately, this may mean that Ron Paul will definitely not be a major candidate. Who knows?

I’m not saying I’m definitely voting for the guy, but he’s one of the few who’ve definitely peaked my voting interest.

As long as we’re on the subject…
I’m all for a Black president, but Barak Obama seems a little too cool for his own good sometimes. I like his background, but he seems to play along with emotionalistic logic on some issues.

I like that Hilary Clinton could be the first woman President, but I don’t see much in her that’s attractive as a leader. She seems tough and she’s obviously very intelligent, but I don’t dig the colder-than-ice feeling she exudes on camera :)

There are other candidates, I know. I’m just naming the popular ones that come to mind at the moment. Anyway, I have a year to think about it.
