So yeah many days have gone by at my new job. In summary: it’s cool. They sent me to Boston/Braintree, Massachusetts last week for some training with other members of the team. I’d never been to the east coast, so it was cool. Cold, but cool.
Don’t have time to go into detail, but basically….the roads are retarded. it’s all twisted up, makes no sense, and way too hectic to be driving in Boston. Maybe that’s why everyone does public transportation or taxi. Anyway, driving sucked, but a lotta the native Bostonians talked funny, so that alone was worth the 6 hour flight.
So back in Cupertino today the Global Web Marketing team goes out to lunch. One of the managers pays, and guess where we go? Yes. the demonic “food item” you americans call “chinese food”. Mandarin Gourmet, to be exact. I had some chicken chow mein. Amazing how no matter what I order, it still tastes like fried cardboard. I really have to just order a small salad next time. Because that stuff was too harsh on my stomach and the soup started making me choke. It’s all the vinegar or whatever they put in that hot and sour soup. i started breaking out too. kinda weird allergic reaction?.
so now i have two reasons not to eat “chinese food”. woohoo!! (the other being that it’s basically smells and tastes like sumo wrestler sweat. yes. i’ve tasted that.)
Oh, yeah… my point……
although the food is consistently caca, the dessert — the cookie of fortune — is always so thoughtful.
as for the fortune: let it be so, Lord, and may it come with a hefty sack of U.S. monetary units :)
