I drew a picture of Nuvia
i drew this in ‘openCanvas’ with a wacom. i enrolled in a drawing class for fun and personal enrichment at the local community college. And I’ve noticed it’s helped a lot in my drawing. Wendy Angel, the teacher, has really focused on the idea of connecting your hand with your eyes.
i don’t think my drawing has changed drastically, but i have noticed some change. and i have found myself not automatically exaggerating and skewing what i see when i draw. this drawing of Nuvia is still pretty illustrative and stylistically ‘naturalistic’, but at least it’s not as cartoon-networky as a lot of my other stuff. (which is what i’m going for right now)
anyway, i hope to do more quick people illustrations like this. of family and friends and stuff. hopefully prepare myself for some ‘official’ oil and acrylic paintings.
i gotta confess.. i missed my annual awesome bday gifts
