Below is an offthecuff reply to a comment by someone made somewhere, saying Sometimes Love isn’t Enough
in this way, i agree: LOVE — the way we think about and define it — is simply not enough.
Your heart, mind, and strength. These are needed, as a unified team to achieve a lasting LOVE
For without your mind(will and intention), your heart and feelings conspire to act without thinking, and then must follow the somewhat simple-minded strength.(actions)
Acts of Love need at least the agreement of the mind, for then the heart will follow.
And as you know, thoughts and intentions of Love(the mind) mean nothing without action.
and if you follow only your heart, well you might as well be as fickle and unpredictable as the wind. here now and then gone. sincere and strong for the moment, but crumbling in despair the next.
…the heart is wicked and deceitful above all things… who can know it?
don’t simply listen to your feelings; they are fickle and fragile. at offense and tragedy, like a millstone tied around your neck, your feelings will jump into the river and your mind and heart will follow.
don’t simply follow your heart; it is a selfish guide, often making plans without consulting the mind. you will find that your hands and feet tend to blindly follow your heart’s instructions if you do not first balance your actions with your mind(will).
LOVE with your strength, your mind, and your heart. For a three-cord bond cannot be easily broken.
And lastly, there is usually two involved in this tango. So when the two are entwined in a love that is bound with the unity of strength, mind and heart, that Love will be forever.
