someone I once knew
to be a true friend
a complete confidant
you remind me of this one
who said they’d never let me down
they promised to usually be around
you remind me of someone
someone I once knew
they aren’t around now
I haven’t seen this someone
in a long while
this someone is absent in my life’s roster now
you remind me…
this someone used to say
enough is enough
right alongside me
ranting and raving together
like rebels with an holy cause
Denouncing the blind sheep’s applause
Together breaking the chains
made for our brains
bending the bars of our mental prisons
breaking free of tyrannical religiosity
together we stood
We’re apart now
you remind me of someone
that someone fell back
turned around cuz of some frivolity
you remind me of someone I once knew…
